🔍 When is it ripe?
Fully black (not red or dark red) and comes off the stem with no resistance — zero pull. Dull rather than shiny; a shiny black berry is still slightly underripe and tart. Eat the same day for best flavour.
This field is full of blackberries. The owner generally doesn't mind foragers as he's not using that land at the current time. You can even see on the satellite imagery where people have made paths while picking.
Just don't bother the tilled area.
And please don't harvest from any of the yards on the way there. I know people posting signs because they actually use their edibles.
The road to it is very washed out and uneven. Do not recommend driving there with a low-rider or bad suspension.
On the plus side, there are a few popular swimming areas in the nearby river, so if you get too hot, you can just take a dip.
