Deep purple-black berries, very sweet. Ripe by mid-June in warm years. Pick when fully dark and slightly soft.
As of Summer 2013, there were 2 healthy and prolific serviceberries alongside the Taco Bell drivethru ---
As of June 2022, the taco bell survives, but alas we did not see the serviceberry
