🔍 When is it ripe?
Small apples ripen from green to red, yellow, or orange by variety. Very tart raw but excellent for jelly and cider. Ripe when the colour is fully developed and the fruit lifts off with a gentle twist.
Three or four crabapple trees behind the Rensselaer sign. The trees are different varieties from each other: some fruits grow to an inch diameter while others remain less than 1/2 inch wide.
