🔍 When is it ripe?
Background colour changes from green to yellow or cream (variety determines final colour). Seeds inside should be brown. Flesh yields slightly to thumb pressure. A ripe apple releases with a gentle upward twist — no pulling. Check the ground for natural drops.
There's a great apple tree on the corner of the police station property and some electric box infrastructure that you can climb up on top of to pick them better. Police have seen me picking and said it was ok - they didn't even know they were edible. Small greenish apples, ready in the summer.
