Native ginger
Should be a clump of native ginger along this road. The Biripi people (local aboriginal tribe) had many uses for this plant. They cooked meat in the large leaves, used the new shoots for a ginger flavour. The fruit and flower are also edible and have a minty-gingery flavour. The Biripi left the roots alone-despite being edible it restricts the growth of the plant. I personally would get the younger and sweeter root growth and not the old. Enjoy your bush tucker!
