🔍 When is it ripe?
Background colour changes from green to yellow or cream (variety determines final colour). Seeds inside should be brown. Flesh yields slightly to thumb pressure. A ripe apple releases with a gentle upward twist — no pulling. Check the ground for natural drops.
Old tree, many bare branches low down. Need a picker or ladder to harvest. Fair yield of gala/Jonathan type apples. A little under ripe in late August- might try again in a week
