🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep red and glossy; stem pulls cleanly. Taste is the best test — sweet and juicy when ripe, still astringent if picked too early.
A cherry tree grows in the community garden. Some of its branches overhang the wall onto the pavement outside. There are lots of fallen cherries around June time. It might do to ask permission from whoever is at the garden reception.
