American persimmon

American persimmon Public
🗓 Season: October · November · December
🔍 When is it ripe?
Must be fully ripe (very soft, almost jelly-like) before eating. Harvest after first frost or when naturally falling. Dark orange to purple when ready. Rich, caramel-sweet flavour.
Three or four young trees, several of which are losing ground due to erosion, and one large tree. All have lots of fruit. Best edibility and least astringency when fruits are soft and almost purple in color.
