European chestnuts: burs split on the tree in September–October. Collect from the ground daily. Cook before eating — roast, boil, or dry and grind. Score the flat side before roasting to prevent explosion.
Árvore localizada dentro do terreno de um convento, muitas castanhas caem para fora. Estão envoltas em uma casca espinhenta, então recomendo ir com um sapato duro para pisar na casca e liberar as castanhas.
