🔍 When is it ripe?
The green husk splits into four sections and turns brown when ripe. Shake branches or wait for fall. Cure in a cool, dry place for 2–3 weeks. Kernels should be full and not shrivelled.
No longer available - cut down. Large pecan on the west side of May just south of 43rd Street. It's on the side of the road so public I believe.
UPDATE: I (third party) visited this tree 10/25/2021 and I could not find it. There were several freshly-cut tree stumps in this area so I believe it has been cut down.
