🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep purple-black when ripe; intensely flavoured and juicy. Spread a tarp and shake the tree — ripe fruits fall immediately. Stains everything permanently — wear old clothes. Do not pick unripe red berries (mildly hallucinogenic).
Pull into the Cobb's Hill Reservoir driveway to the top. Pull over to the right as you crest the hill. The area to your right is called the Washington Grove, there is even a sign of the trails, behind the sign, just at the beginning of the trail, past three small boulders on your left, is the mulberry tree.
