🔍 When is it ripe?
Unlike apples, pears ripen from the inside out. Harvest when the skin colour lightens and the fruit separates with a gentle upward twist. Ripen off the tree at room temperature — leave on a counter until the neck yields to thumb pressure.
I don't know what kind of pear tree this is but it's in the backyard of the 8th house on Bellemeadow Drive. It hangs over the backyard into the Alpine Elementary fields. Look for all of the Rose of Sharon bushes and it should be above that.
