🔍 When is it ripe?
Colour fully develops (purple, red, or yellow by variety) and a waxy bloom appears on the skin. Softens slightly at the tip. Taste-test for sweetness — European plums are better slightly soft; Japanese types can be harvested firmer.
There is a plum tree growing right on the edge of the apartment building property, right next to the sidewalk. When in season most of the plums fall on the street and go to waste.
