🔍 When is it ripe?
Unlike apples, pears ripen from the inside out. Harvest when the skin colour lightens and the fruit separates with a gentle upward twist. Ripen off the tree at room temperature — leave on a counter until the neck yields to thumb pressure.
Edible pear tree along fence inside park. Currently showing a good number of immature fruits. (update 9/23/16)- Went back when pears should have been ripe, no pears found on the tree.
