🔍 When is it ripe?
Non-astringent types: eat when orange and firm. Astringent types: wait until very soft and wrinkled. Both fully orange when ripe.
Large tree with lots of fruit that falls all day and night for 4-6 weeks, end of September through October.
On busy semi-rural road right next to a food-service business. Plenty of night-time lighting. Ask to collect if owner is around. He's a nice guy. If no one is around, you're fine. He's posts the location on craigslist.
