American persimmon

📍 Woodland Av & 40th St, Philadelphia, PA 19104, USA
American persimmon Public
🗓 Season: October · November · December
🔍 When is it ripe?
Must be fully ripe (very soft, almost jelly-like) before eating. Harvest after first frost or when naturally falling. Dark orange to purple when ready. Rich, caramel-sweet flavour.
The tree produces fruit over a rock shaped grave, don't climb the grave sometimes a volunteer will be happy to let you take some low branched ones. If they're not ripe just place with some bananas until they're squishy
