🔍 When is it ripe?
Hangs heavily and droops at the neck; skin softens and may split. A sweet drop of nectar at the base eye and the absence of white sap at the stem confirm ripeness. Pick with a gentle twist.
Fig tree by the curb of the corner residence. In some cities this location would be legally regarded as city property.
2025: did not find fig tree but various apple and Asian pear trees on sidewalk strip, plus grapes dropping off vines 9/25/25
