🔍 When is it ripe?
Small, round, turning from red to deep purple-black. Sweet and blueberry-like when fully dark. Birds eat them as soon as they ripen — check daily. Best fresh or in pies and jam.
Two serviceberries at Royal Henley Retirement Residence. This is private property but they are located in a very public area. if you ask the staff politely, they let you pick.
