Dumpsters in a long dark alley around here behind restaurants & shops. Good for yoghurt, cream cheese, flour, etc. plus a bit of fruit - generally all freshly thrown out. Quiet area, flats overlooking some of the dumpsters but good dumpsters are in patches that aren't well lit. No problems with residents or restaurant staff so far - you don't need to be silent, just use your common sense.
