🔍 When is it ripe?
Background colour changes from green to yellow or cream (variety determines final colour). Seeds inside should be brown. Flesh yields slightly to thumb pressure. A ripe apple releases with a gentle upward twist — no pulling. Check the ground for natural drops.
Apple tree between the leasing office's building and the building adjacent. The tree has little to no upkeep, so the apples are only good when green or barely turned red, but I have made some good apple crisp and apple pies from these apples. They're also good to eat directly, if you like them tart. The community is not gated, so as long as you're not a nuisance and come during the day, no one is likely to say anything.
