🌳
Serviceberry
🗓 Season: June · July
🔍 When is it ripe?
Small, round, turning from red to deep purple-black. Sweet and blueberry-like when fully dark. Birds eat them as soon as they ripen — check daily. Best fresh or in pies and jam.
About 4-5 trees surrounding the building and overhanging sidewalk. Fairly heavy producers, really sweet berries. The season is very short and they're in full sun, so you have about 2-3 days to get them, usually the 1st or 2nd week of June.
