🔍 When is it ripe?
Green husk cracks and turns brown-black when ripe, exposing the shell. Shake branches — ripe nuts fall freely. Gloves essential. Cure in a single layer for 2 weeks before storage.
On the left at the entrance to the Christ Church school is a huge walnut tree. 2020 is a mast year for walnuts and this one is doing fairly well.
