📍 79 E Dodridge St, Columbus, OH 43202, USA
Black walnutCommons Ecology Private but overhanging
🗓 Season: September · October
🔍 When is it ripe?
Harvest when the green husk turns yellow-green and the nut falls naturally or can be shaken loose. Wear gloves — the husk stains permanently. Remove husk immediately, then cure nuts in a cool, airy place for 2–3 weeks before cracking. Intensely flavoured.
Located on the alley edge outside of the fence line. Contesting with the power lines towards the bottom but overall very large and healthy.
