🔍 When is it ripe?
Clusters of orange-yellow fruit; ripe when fully orange with no green, yields to gentle pressure, and comes off the stem with a slight tug. Very sweet and aromatic when right — mealy if overripe. Short shelf life after picking.
Drive around this neighborhood and you'll find lots of loquat trees. Some are on private property, most are on the side of the road. I don't see many people eating them, so they probably wont mind if you grab a handful, even if it's in someone's yard. :)
