🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep blue-purple with a silvery bloom; stem scar (not stem) at the top. Taste is the best test — a truly ripe blueberry is sweet and has no pink flesh inside. Let the cluster go fully blue before picking the whole thing.
At the park here along water street, right along the path by the river and near the statue, there are several highbush blueberry bushes. Perfect picking height! The berries are big, dark blue and delicious, ripening in mid to late summer. Bring a container and share them with the birds!
