🔍 When is it ripe?
Yellow, fragrant, and very hard when ripe — not soft like apples. Look for a deep golden-yellow colour and a strong quince aroma. Inedible raw (very astringent); excellent for jam, paste, and jelly after cooking.
Quince. There is no fence so I can’t tell if this quince is on private property or not...it looks like it’s just inside the fence line but overhanging.
This front yard is full of fruit trees but this is the only one that is really overhanging.
