🔍 When is it ripe?
Small, shiny black cherries in drooping clusters. Very astringent raw; stones dominate. Good for wine, jelly, or juice. Fully ripe when black and slightly soft.
5 or more bird cherry trees. Picked many in late May, after the birds had gotten them too.
Check earlier for more berries!
