🔍 When is it ripe?
Background colour changes from green to yellow or cream (variety determines final colour). Seeds inside should be brown. Flesh yields slightly to thumb pressure. A ripe apple releases with a gentle upward twist — no pulling. Check the ground for natural drops.
3 apple trees, just across the creek from the bike path. Either hop across the creek from the path, or cross on Moorhead and squeeze through the brush next to the fence. As of Oct. 20 there are plenty to pick, and they're tasty, but maybe 75% have bugs.
