🔍 When is it ripe?
Background skin colour shifts from green toward yellow; seeds turn brown when ripe. Fruit separates from the spur with a gentle upward twist. Aroma develops near the base. Wild Malus fruit is often small and tart — excellent for cider and jelly.
Lovely little apple orchard planted here! In cooperation with a local brewery, but it is on city land (public park) and no signs are posted saying you can't help yourself to an apple or two...
