Blackberry · Commons Ecology
📍 Scioto Audubon Center, Columbus, OH 43215, USA
🗓 Season: July · August · September
🔍 When is it ripe?
Fully black (not red or dark red) and comes off the stem with no resistance — zero pull. Dull rather than shiny; a shiny black berry is still slightly underripe and tart. Eat the same day for best flavour.
This patch of Blackberries spans 25' in length and width. Plants are in good condition. Leaves are ovate and starting to turn red for fall.
Caution: Stems contain many thorns, careful when touching.
