🔍 When is it ripe?
Small apples ripen from green to red, yellow, or orange by variety. Very tart raw but excellent for jelly and cider. Ripe when the colour is fully developed and the fruit lifts off with a gentle twist.
Wild or semi-feral crabapple tree. Has variable fruit set over the years. Some years nearly no fruit, others very heavy fruit set. Right next to sidewalk between the two stores. Fruit wil persist on tree until next spring some years.
