🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep red to purple-black when fully ripe. Falls naturally. Tart-sweet flavour. Spread cloth below and shake. Stains permanently.
Mature red mulberry trees are present all along the boundary of the apartment complex with the train tracks, but fruit are inaccessible. A couple have been cut down and new growth emerged from the stumps. Can access from apartment carpark after hours, no problem. Fruit are large but taste kind of bland.
