🔍 When is it ripe?
Ripe when fully coloured (white, red, or black by species) and falls at a touch. Spread a sheet and shake the branches. Extremely perishable — process or eat immediately.
Not exactly at this marker--slightly down the road in either direction, I forget exactly which tree. HUGE tree with tons of fruit, but when I visited in June 2021 it was not very good. Very watery and tasteless, which is too bad, because there's an amazing quantity. Maybe better another year?
