🔍 When is it ripe?
Colour fully develops (purple, red, or yellow by variety) and a waxy bloom appears on the skin. Softens slightly at the tip. Taste-test for sweetness — European plums are better slightly soft; Japanese types can be harvested firmer.
There is an alleyway that services the houses on the 100 block of East Scott Avenue. Just where the alley curves, someone has planted 3-4 young red plum trees just outside of their backyard fence. Two are producing heavily and I've never seen much evidence that anybody is harvesting them.
My best guess is that the owner is 115 East Scott Avenue, though they might have also been planted by the church on E. Woodland. Be a good human and ask first!
