🔍 When is it ripe?
Dark red (or yellow for golden varieties) with a glossy skin. Stem stays green and pliable. Flesh is firm but yields to pressure; taste is sweet with no bitterness. Harvest promptly — birds follow the same cues.
A few mature cherry trees overhanging the north side of the street. They are on private lots, but very close to the street and overhang quite a bit. They are quite tall so you'd need a ladder to reach the fruit. Ask property owners before picking.
