🔍 When is it ripe?
Small apples ripen from green to red, yellow, or orange by variety. Very tart raw but excellent for jelly and cider. Ripe when the colour is fully developed and the fruit lifts off with a gentle twist.
Probably Huonville Crab but flesh not quite as dark. (Reference: https://www.woodbridgefruittrees.com.au/semi-dwarfing-apples/99-huonville-crab-semi-dwarfing.html). Decent eating but prone to codling moth.
Large tree, with dark/pruplish leaves.
Accessible from the bike path but on private property.
