Black locust

πŸ“ 657 S Union Ave, Pueblo, CO 81004, USA
Black locust Private but overhanging
πŸ—“ Season: May
πŸ” When is it ripe?
Flowers (white, fragrant clusters) are edible in May and can be eaten raw, fried in batter, or made into syrup. The seeds and green pods are toxic β€” do not eat. Harvest flowers only.
Small grove of Black Locust trees. Not on public property, but adjacent to public sidewalk, probably could pick with no problems. White, pea-flower clusters on the trees in May-June. Eat when new, snow-white blooms, they taste kinda rough when older and a bit yellowish.
