🔍 When is it ripe?
Background colour changes from green to yellow or cream (variety determines final colour). Seeds inside should be brown. Flesh yields slightly to thumb pressure. A ripe apple releases with a gentle upward twist — no pulling. Check the ground for natural drops.
Very old, very large Golden Delicious apple tree in the abandoned parking lot. Hopefully the vines don't eat it up or the city doesn't rip it down. Abundance of ripe fruit varies from year to year.
