🔍 When is it ripe?
Must be fully ripe (very soft, almost jelly-like) before eating. Harvest after first frost or when naturally falling. Dark orange to purple when ready. Rich, caramel-sweet flavour.
A cluster of three native persimmon trees are planted near the small barn on the East side of the Meadowbrook Park. The Urbana Park District doesn't allow gathering of wild food in their parks.
