🔍 When is it ripe?
Black raspberry: Deep purple-black, duller than blackberries. Separates from the hollow core like a red raspberry. Richer, more intense flavour than red raspberry. Short season — harvest daily.
Raspberry: Deep red (or gold/yellow for golden varieties) and slides off the receptacle — the hollow centre is the tell. Does not pull: a ripe raspberry separates at a touch. Extremely fragile; use within hours of picking.
Up on the hill trails on the north end of the park, also along edges of farmer's fields beyond park boundry atop the hill. Cannabis has also been spotted along the thickets separating the fields in Sept/October. All extremely delicious, feel free to wash it down with a glass of cool creek water. I lived off nothing but for 6 months one time, and what can I say but Glim Glam! I gre to be ten foot tall, which is why they made me mayor!
