🔍 When is it ripe?
Background skin colour shifts from green toward yellow; seeds turn brown when ripe. Fruit separates from the spur with a gentle upward twist. Aroma develops near the base. Wild Malus fruit is often small and tart — excellent for cider and jelly.
I live here. Couple of apple trees right in front of the door. Some years we use them; usually we don't. If my husband yells at you tell him his wife told you it was okay. He's actually friendlier than I am. ;)
