🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep purple-black when ripe; intensely flavoured and juicy. Spread a tarp and shake the tree — ripe fruits fall immediately. Stains everything permanently — wear old clothes. Do not pick unripe red berries (mildly hallucinogenic).
Overgrown fence between 30th and Camden Ave, directly South of the Popeyes. Accessible from both sides by a sidewalk where the fence ends (at ally behind Popeyes). Public right of way both sides but no sidewalks, be prepared for poison ivy and burrs. Largest concentration of mulberry trees at North end, rapidly tapering off as you move South. Start on Camden road side at North end for best picking.
