🔍 When is it ripe?
Must be fully ripe (very soft, almost jelly-like) before eating. Harvest after first frost or when naturally falling. Dark orange to purple when ready. Rich, caramel-sweet flavour.
Overhangs onto the trail. Although there are another six trees behind the fence, don't pick these, as the folks who own the property sell them at a roadside fruit stand.
