🔍 When is it ripe?
Fully black (not red or dark red) and comes off the stem with no resistance — zero pull. Dull rather than shiny; a shiny black berry is still slightly underripe and tart. Eat the same day for best flavour.
Blackberries up and down the alley on this block, mostly on the right side. Some overhang a fence. I used to pick these when I lived in the area. They made great cobbler.
