🔍 When is it ripe?
Fully black (not red or dark red) and comes off the stem with no resistance — zero pull. Dull rather than shiny; a shiny black berry is still slightly underripe and tart. Eat the same day for best flavour.
Blackberries along the Martin Luther King Equality trail (formerly the Inter-City Trail). Definitely some between Merriman St and Milwaukee St. A few heavier locations east of 4th Street, but you can find some vines all along the trail.
