White mulberry

📍 530 Palisade Ave, Teaneck, NJ 07666, USA
White mulberry Public
🗓 Season: May · June · July
🔍 When is it ripe?
White to pale pink or lavender when ripe. Very sweet and mild. Falls from the tree when ripe — spread a sheet below and shake. Extremely delicate; eat within hours. Ripe berries stain less than black mulberry but deteriorate even faster.
Tree(s) grow on the fence line of the gravel roadway leading to Herrick Park and overhang the roadway. Can be reached simply by standing on the ground, but I found it easiest from the bed of my pickup truck when I took several softwood cuttings.
