🔍 When is it ripe?
Fully black, glossy berries hanging in strigs. Ripe when all berries on the strig are black. Tart but intensely flavoured — leave a few extra days for sweetness. Best for juice, jam, and cordial.
Plantnet app identified leaves as blackcurrant(Ribes Nigrum) along Rock Creek near Thompson boathouse, including on the bridge. Fair amount of ripe fruit at end of August though most will ripen in September.
