🔍 When is it ripe?
Yellow, fragrant, and very hard when ripe — not soft like apples. Look for a deep golden-yellow colour and a strong quince aroma. Inedible raw (very astringent); excellent for jam, paste, and jelly after cooking.
Quince tree overhanging the public walkway. Some years it's heaving and some years there's not many. Very tall so hard to reach. Lots more fruit inside the property, but doesn't seem to get picked unfortunately.
