🔍 When is it ripe?
Dark red (or yellow for golden varieties) with a glossy skin. Stem stays green and pliable. Flesh is firm but yields to pressure; taste is sweet with no bitterness. Harvest promptly — birds follow the same cues.
Fairly large cherry tree overhanging the sidewalk. Large, yellow, very good quality sweet cherries. Ripe late June/early July. Some can be reached by hand from the sidewalk, but you'd need a ladder to reach the majority of the fruit. Have not spoken with property owners so ask before you pick.
