🔍 When is it ripe?
Small apples ripen from green to red, yellow, or orange by variety. Very tart raw but excellent for jelly and cider. Ripe when the colour is fully developed and the fruit lifts off with a gentle twist.
Large mature crabapple in greenspace in front of the University's baseball stadium. First fruits had blushed and begun to fall at my 9/2/2020 visit.
